Tunes in the DunesEnsuring Cornwall's festival on a beach is full
Tunes in the Dunes is a unique music festival here in Cornwall.
With top level artists performing across three days on the beach at Perranporth the festival is now in its 3rd year. The event is still in the early stages of it’s development and growth, so the organisers approached us to see if we could utilise our digital armoury to increase ticket sales across the weekend.
After initial discussions it was decided that the best approach was to use a short-run social media strategy alongside a sales partnership with piratefm.co.uk to inject some real volume into both brand awareness and ticket sales.
Working in tandem with the team at Tunes in the Dunes and the extended Pirate FM shop team we put together a social media advertising campaign that targeted a specific audience. The focus was to drive relevant users to a voucher page over at piratefm.co.uk to convert into purchases.
A multi advert set campaign was structured around strict demographics and interests to deliver results at real pace. Using geographic targeting we ensured the campaign was highly visible in the local area, as well as targeting local fans of headline acts such as Primal Scream, Clean Bandit and Reef. This meant that the campaign gained traction fast, with huge engagement and response rates and ultimately, traffic to shop pages.
Across a campaign duration of 24 days Pirate 360’s Facebook campaign delivered reach of 83,344, 5690 site visits at a CPC of just 7p.
During this time the client sold 1500 tickets and ensured the festival was running much closer to capacity. Over the weekend ticket purchasers were able to use a simple email code and ID (rather than physical tickets) to gain entry to the festival, ensuring a smooth customer experience. All they then needed to do was sit back and enjoy the most incredible festival on a beach.
This well social media campaign delivered some incredible results, with expectations truly exceeded. The client has already ear-marked Pirate 360 to deliver social media campaigns for ticket sales in 2018.
